A Leg Up on the Repurposing

I began collecting furniture for my apartment last summer. I salvaged pieces from yard sales, thrift stores and such, and some pieces I repurposed from parts myself. I found this green suitcase for $2 at a yard sale and instantly knew from it's flat body that it would make a decent side table.

First, I set a bowl of vinegar in the suitcase overnight to help dissipate its smell. I scrubbed it clean and decided it didn't need a complete paint job, just a sprucing up. At first, the legs I attached were too tall. They bowed and made the table extremely unsteady. I returned the legs to Home Depot and found some nice 15" ones which did the trick. I added light green to the legs and trim and now my tree Albert has a stylish place to sit.

Well, that's all for now. Dabble on, y'all!
